NFL Showdown Washington Commanders vs Chicago Bears

Its crazy to think that one day, the guy who scheduled the season decided to put this on the calendar as an island game. The same week as Denver vs Chargers (Monday). How could this possibly go well? With a showdown win of course! Lets be real, if we didnt have DFS and/or gambling options, we would not tune into this at all.

Salary Based Expectations

No matter how bad a game may end up being, the key to showdown slate is to properly estimate the game script and lean your lineup into it. Many times, player usage drives that, even though many players think that defense vs position does. Therefore I look at this first view and see that Wentz to Samuel is pretty much the highest usage on the board. Gibson is right below at half the potential ownership (its early).

Kicker and DST usage is not shown as usual but obviously in play when you have two teams who dont plan on scoring much.

Further down we have potentially Ebner and Turner as large field GPP darts. They likely get you 1 to 2 pts at best, but potentially give you a different build than the field if they are active participants in this game.

Snap Trends

Not looking like Ebner is safe. Turner has a big rise in snaps last game, from 0 to 32 so thats interesting. May have to see if someone is injured to cause that or coming back from injury.

Vegas vs My Totals

I think the over/under is properly set around 37 pts so theres no edge here IMO. I do think that Washington could cover except their defense sucks all around. QBs tend to put up a lot and rushing QBs also excel vs Washington so this one is tricky in predicting the side worth stacking.

DVP

For Pass catchers, washington has free real estate out there so good luck picking one. Even the RB can catch passes here. Chicago defense filters to WR2, and unfortunately I cant tell you who that is. Mcclauren is the top option in my head but he is 2nd in targets on his team after 5 weeks of play (and that has been consistantly the case most weeks). The one hint at who might do well is that the middle of the field and deep passes seem to be where Chicago is the weakest. Maybe its Cam Sims? Then again, maybe this is yet another week where we are all better off just taking the double kicker double defense approach and sharing the funds.

Leverage

One of the kickers could be live for a captain play. Hate to see it but it is what it is. Gotta choose one or the other though. Good luck!
